Paying It Forward: USAP Students Sleep Well

When USAP students arrived on college campuses across America in August, they were pleasantly surprised to find a post office slip alerting them they had a package awaiting them.  That package contained a beautiful set of bedding for each of their new dorm rooms.

A USAP alumna, who prefers to remain anonymous, came up with the initiative to ensure that all USAP first year students would arrive to find a full set of bedding awaiting them on campus.  She reached out and simply asked for their names, dates of arrival, campus addresses and favorite colors. She remembered how when she arrived to college buying bedding depleted the hard-earned pocket money that her family had sent her to school with.  She further thought about how welcoming it would have felt to find a made up bed ready for her at university.

After we sent her the needed information, she quietly activated her plan.  All first year USAP students received a full set of bedding shortly after arrival on campus.  She wrote back that she enjoyed the project and intends to repeat it annually.

Sometimes it’s the small gestures of kindness that make all the difference.  We thank our generous USAP bedding angel and her helpers for ensuring that our new cohort sleeps well.
